It feels like 1963

Today I picked up my new...old car. Introducing the newest member into the Snyder Family and into my VW Collection a 1963 Beetle. I picked it up today from North Jersey, only two minor snags towing it back (had to tow it since we didn't have the title transferred and plates). Here are some additional notes on the car:
- Originally from Massachusetts
- All original parts, chrome, engine etc.
- Paint is not perfect but resprayed once to original colors
- Original interior
- 137K on the dial
- 1200cc, 6 volt
- Rag Top (Frikin' Slayer!!!)
- AM Radio...you know it
- Heat works, AC too (the ragtop)
- Drum Brakes
- Has original jack & owner's manual

Also snapped a few pixors, taking the family for a ride around the block. Will snap some more glam shots once I get the title transfer and my antique plate.

Dad's Happy

Ummm Dad are you sure this thing has airbags?

Off we go...has a spot patch job, at bottom of door, like I said the paint is not perfect I plan to redue within the year. My goal was to find something that I could drive right away and was original and solid.

Daily Driver M-F; Daily Driver Sat-Sun

1200cc of raw 40hp!!!

The AC

Dad you are telling me the engine is in the back of these things?

Pimp Dash

I am totally stoked to being driving air-cooled again! The best way I can describe it is...it feels like time slows down and everything is in slow motion. Mainly b/c the car is slow, but since there is nothing power about the car it's like you have rewound your watch 50 years ago. You just can't help to smile while you drive it.

That dub is schweet! Hatboro has a classic car show in the summer time...you should enter it...they close down York Road the length of town and thousands of people come from all over to see the line up!

Best of luck with it.
